Volunteers

Help change someone’s life by volunteering at HfH

Our volunteers are awesome.  Their dedication, enthusiasm and commitment make it possible for us to serve the special needs community in our area free of charge.  Each week volunteers come to the farm to work with our horses, maintain the property and support our students. They give of themselves so that those with special needs can enjoy the special place that is Horses for Hope.  We couldn’t do what we do without our volunteers and are so incredibly thankful for them.

Our volunteers come from all ages, various religions and all experience levels. We have families that volunteer together, teenagers, retired people wanting to use their spare time to help others, people doing community service hours and horse people who feel the calling to help people understand how the bond between a horse and a human can change a life.

We train our volunteers so no experience is necessary.  Some of the areas to serve in are:

  • Grooming horses
  • Serving on our Board of Directors
  • Grant writing
  • Feeders
  • Horse-Leaders and Side-Walkers
  • Training our horses (anyone interested in this must first take and complete our Basic Horsemanship Course)
  • Cleaning Stalls
  • Maintaining the grounds
  • Unloading and stacking hay ( we usually get around 300 bales at a time delivered to the farm)

If you are interested in volunteering email our volunteer coordinator for more information.
