Camp will run from 8-12 and the campers will ride every day (weather permitting) as well as activities with our miniature horses, crafts and games.  The ages are for all school aged children 7 and up - the cost will be $160/week (or $225 for the jumping camp).  Our facility is located in southern Wake County at
2909 Banks Rd, Raleigh NC 27603

e-mail today to reserve your spot - please specify which week you desire and whether your child has had prior riding experience.  Send your e-mail to gwen@horsesforhope.org and put Summer Camp in your subject line - class is limited to 5 campers and it will fill up fast so don't wait!

Campers will be taught safety around horses, basic horse care, how to care for equipment used, horse behavior, breeds, markings, colors and more.  All days are subject to be changed depending on weather and events.  Campers must be at least 7 years old.

A typical camp day (for the 8-12 camps) will be as follows:

7:45-8:00 Campers arrive
8:00-8:30 Groom horses and tack up for riding.
8:30-9:45 Ride-trail ride on Tuesday and Thursday–horse games on Friday
9:45-10:00 Cool down and clean up horses - clean and put up tack
10:10-10:15 Break and snack time
10:15-11:00 Crafts and learning about horses
11:00-12:00 Fun with the Mini’s - horse grooming, conditioning & jumping
12:00-12:15 Campers go home

On rainy days we will do games, arts & crafts and watch horsey movies.

Campers are expected to arrive at camp in long pants (jeans or riding pants) and boots with heels (suitable for riding), Campers should expect to get dirty - so they will need to bring an extra change of clothes, shorts, and tennis shoes.  Please also bring bug spray and sunscreen as needed.

Cost of camp will be $160 per week or $225 for the jumping camp (includes a $50 non-refundable registration fee).  The $50 registration fee is due within one week of your reservation due to the high demand for our camps - your spot will not be secure until your deposit is received.  The balance will be due 30 days before the start of the first day of your selected camp week.  Parents of campers must complete and return all forms prior to the camper arriving on the first day.   Camp will be limited - campers will be accepted on a first come first serve basis - registration and forms can be mailed to 3213 Banks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27603 or you can drop it by the barn in the evenings when a Horses for Hope representative is present.  If you should have to cancel your camp week we will refund all but the registration fee up to three weeks before the beginning of the selected camp week.
